Correct - always bus. And if the flight is operated by an Embraer it will be a long trip - to the small aircraft apron area behind Terminal 2.

Is it usually a b bus gate or is it fairly random?
I exepecr it to be bus gate which would mean boarding a out 15 mins after scheduled arrival and less opportunity for a last minute arrival at the gate.
The 10:30 would be fine and would give me a chance for a shower and some breakfast.
Its an 083 ticket, who would be responsresponsible to rebook me? Lo lh or sa?
Any chance someone will meet me and escort me?

I recently had a situation when my CA flight from PEK was late and I was catching a LH flight to ZRH.
LH also handles CA and there was a LH employee at the gate - who sent me to LH Transit Desk for rebooking onto a LX flight. LH Transit Desk insisted it should be CA that will rebook me. I refused to go back to the gate, so he 'made an exception' and rebooked me into a LX flight.
Just be a warrior and fight with LH desk for rebooking

Hello there,
Please how long will take a transfer from Schengen A gates to C gates at FRA? Arriving from Prague by Lufthansa (assuming a bus gate in Pier A) and connecting to an intercontinental flight to Muscat by Oman Air (as a Lufthansa partner assuming gates C13-16)?
How long will take a passport control and security check?
Thank you in advance.

Lines at FRA vary enormously day by day & hour/ time of day.
For a connection like that, suggest you build in a 2 hr connection to be safe.

I have kind of a scary booking ARN-MIA, involving short connections at both MUC and FRA.
It is booked like this:
ARN-MUC LH2421 06:00-08:10
Layover: 50 min
MUC-FRA LH099 09:00-10:00
Layover: 45 minutes
FRA-MIA LH462 10:45-14:50
It's booked through Lufthansa, and falls within the MCT. But is it realistic? Does LH have any transfer service for short connection passengers?

1. Go through passport control in A, up to Z, take the Skyline to C and go through security, or
2. Go landside, walk across the main terminal and go through passport control and security into C.

Unfortunetaly, there was just a sign that said: the next bus will there in a few minutes. They operated early in the morning and there were "ushers" before the exit of Z on the right hand side, directing pax to a door with plenty of stairs behind it. Looked fairly makeshift. Sorry that I do not have more information.
If the "BUS" is available - is this the best way to go?
If not, is it better to take the Skytrain to B - OR - to exit Z, go through passport control, go through a tunnel to B, then through passport control again?
I am hoping that a mid day arrival FRA should not be overly busy, as compared to first thing in the morning, or later in the afternoon/ early evening.
If we miss the 13:10 to Manchester, I know LH will put us on the 16:25. Should that happen, are there showers at FRA I can pay for ?
Many thanks

Great thread - I would just like to clarify my understanding of arriving at Z (LH flight from JFK arriving 11:45) connecting to non Schengen B gate LH flight to Manchester, UK at 13:10 (85 minutes connection) - no checked luggage.

Superb information - very much appreciated. We do have EU e-passports, so if no bus available, we will follow your advice and go through the tunnel.
No lounge access on the trip - managed to get a super cheap ticket for a surprise trip to visit my mother for her 85th birthday. UA direct flight MAN-EWR, returning JFK-FRA-MAN 7-11 March $345 return.
Funny video on the shower link showing a "flyer" having a shower - who said Germans don't have a sense of humour?

50 mins in MUC shouldn’t be a problem, though 45 mins in FRA sounds a little tight. MUC flights usually arrive at A gates not too far from passport control but there isn’t any transfer service that I know of because you just clear passport control and go up to Z. Good luck!

I have only transited FRA once before, on an SFO-FRA-DEL hop with many hours to make the connection so I didn't pay attention. In a few weeks am flying IAD-FRA (UA) / FRA-GVA (LH) with an 80 min connection time. From reading the thread, it looks like I should be okay, since I'll arrive in Z and depart from A (I hope), and will not go through transfer security but will go through passport control.
I read that Z and A gates are on different levels, Z one floor up. Do Z and A gates use the same jet bridge but different entry/exit points? UA's status indicates IAD-FRA frequently arriving at A gates, but that doesn't comport with what I read on this thread for non-Schengen flights.
Occasionally, UA marks the flight as arriving gate V124, which seems to be a remote pad. Is arrival at a remote pad a real possibility? Is 80 minutes enough time to connect in that case? Where would the bus from the remote pad arrive at the terminal?
