Only mainline FA's who are fluent in italian and are liscensed to fly the A319 can bid on these flights.

Maybe not the correct thread, and it might have been posted before, but it seems Air Dolomiti will receive E195s nevertheless; the first one could already be delivered as early as next week. Anyway, according to the LH timetable, the E195 will start operating on the VRN-FRA route from 17-2-09 and on the MXP-MUC route from 2-3-09.

Seems LHR-MXP will be LH Italia operated by bmi on wetlease:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/32724a1e-f...nclick_check=1
BMI is removing about four aircraft or 12 per cent of its mainline short-haul fleet of 32 Airbus A320 family jets, which are to be used in charter rather than scheduled service. Two of the Airbus fleet are to be leased to Lufthansa together with BMI pilots and cabin crew, and will be operated on the German airline’s planned new route between Milan Malpensa and Heathrow, and Berlin and Heathrow.
How confusing can you be.... I guess the italians won't mind...

Just called the US HON line (useless as usual, should have just called the German one directly), and in the waiting loop they were advertising LH Italia as if it was a life-style product, very odd..

Just to be informed: there are stong rumors on more European flights (MXP-AMS, for example) to start in S09 season.
Other rumors are concerning the start of intercontinental flights, the firsts to north America, seems with LH 343.

Interesting, I am not sure why they are bothering with the MXP-FCO flights unless they start some longhaul services from MXP, The train is faster even when flying from LIN let alone MXP. MXP-NAP would be an interesting flight, again, still finding it hard to get myself to MXP rather than LIN.

Depends on your start/end point. What you say is true for downturn Milano, but there are is a lot of business in the region around Milano that's actually closer to MXP than to LIN.

MXP to FCO,CTA and NAP makes perfect sense if they intend to start longhauls ex MXP and establsih MXp as a 5th hub after ZRH, FRA, MUC, VIE.
Guess the Northern Germans will nor really like the center of gravity shifting South

Avanti Luftitalia!^
