Arrival at K Terminal 2 from Munich? and Vienna Lounge?
So we are arriving from Munich on OS 112 and I notice that this flight seems to go to gate K Terminal 2. I don’t see that on the maps but may I assume that this a remote gate that busses to Terminal 2. And then my ongoing flight to Cairo departs it would appear from G. So having 2 hrs I would like to check out the Vienna Lounge so is this on the way? And then passport control before entering G?

Would rather go through passport control first and then use the OS lounge in area G (non-Schengen).

The Vienna Lounge is a pay-lounge that can be accessed by all flyers who are willing to pay for it. If you are really interested, check it out, but I personally would always go through passport control first and then use the OS lounge closer to your gate. If you go back the same way and really want to check out the Vienna Lounge, I would go there before the Schengen flight.

Vienna Lounge is indeed awesome but it's located in another wing of the terminal and before the passport control. If you had a longer layover, I'd recommend you to check it out, but under these circumstances it might be better to skip it.
Also note that unless you have a card that allows entry, quality of the Vienna Lounge is reflected in its price (i.e. it's more expensive than usual for third party lounges and more expensive than the other airport-operated lounge at VIE).

Are you sure that for gates K at Terminal 2 you are not looking at departure gates? That does sound like Munich - K gates are Schengen satellite concourse where VIE normally departs from.
I would normally expect MUC to arrive at pier, but it might end up by bus. If in pier, take a turn towards the lower F gates, signs will show where to go for G. Bus will put you out in the duty free zone at the beginning of the pier. Pass through the duty free shop, follow signs for G gates and lounges, pass the passport control (one floor up) and go to the business lounge in G.

Contemplating for following itinerary on an UA award ticket in Y:
OU 440 ZAG-VIE 0820-0910
OS 829 VIE-EBL 1005-1550
55 minutes for the connection with checked luggage. US passport. Too risky?

I assume you mean ZAG. It should be ok, OS offers even much shorter connections at VIE, which is a compat and efficient airport. You will only need to go through exit passport control, which normally isn't too slow.
