Fall 2002-2003 Economy Class Promotion: 2 for 1
1. Receive a free companion ticket when you purchase a qualifying round-trip Economy Class ticket on Lufthansa departing from any Lufthansa U.S. gateway to any Lufthansa destination in IATA Europe. Outbound travel must commence between September 15, 2002 and December 14, 2002. Reservations must be made and tickets purchased between September 1, 2002 and November 30, 2002 and all travel must be completed by January 12, 2003. Blackout dates for westbound transatlantic travel are December 15, 2002 - January 5, 2003.
2. Companion offer is for Economy Class travel and is only valid with the purchase of any Q class APEX fare.
3. Companion must travel on the same flight itinerary as the fare-paying passenger.
4. Free companion ticket has no refund value, does not accrue frequent flyer mileage, is not eligible for an upgrade and is subject to all applicable government fees, taxes and charges. Companion ticket may not be sold, bartered or purchased.
5. Infant or Child discounted tickets do not apply.
6. Seat allocations may be limited on specific departures.
7. One free companion ticket per trip.
8. Offer is not valid with any other promotion, discount or corporate discount or group rate.
9. Fare conditions may apply, including 21 day advance booking; ticketing within 72 hours after reservations are made, and minimum and maximum stay restrictions. For reservations made between November 23, 2002 and November 30, 2002 ticketing must be within 72 hours.

There was a similar promotion last fall,along with a separate double miles promotion. The 2-1 saving was about $130 IAD-Florence.
I thought the 8000 status miles, and the 16,000 total M&M miles were worth the additional $130.
