DBML have vanished from the list, you have to order a free text SPML. Call in and say you would like to add a free text SPML SSR to the reservation. In the free text they can specify that the pax is a diabetic.

See the first post in this thread. DBML used to be a standard special meal.
It no longer is a special meal, so you can call them and ask them to add a special meal because your husband is a diabetic.
So ask them to add a SSR (special service request) with the special code SPML and add the free text: 'Diabetic meal: no sugar, low fat, no breaded products, non alcoholic'

The special code SPML for "special meal" can only be applied if no other meal code can match the requirement of the customer. These are exempt cases, such as guests with rare allergies.

What is the Veg-Asian (Indian) meal in J like?
Official description is “Meal without meat, prepared and spiced in the Indian style”
On a lot of carriers, this translates to bland white rice and steamed vegetables. We’re flying FRA-SFO.

AVML ex Germany is OK, but not stunning (for an Indian). They make an effort since the India business is essential to them to fill the many N. American flights.

Does anyone know if the passionfruit muesli on LH429 contains nuts?
I have business class tickets for a flight next month and the breakfast is listed as passionfruit muesli. One of the members in our party has a nut allergy. I'm the only one who likes muesli and any kind I've had has had nuts in it. Before I order a special meal I wanted to just double check. The breakfast from PE would be fine for this member of our party. Can I just request that or should I have the allergy noted? Thanks in advance.

I did call for a special meal. No clue how helpful that will be since it seemed English is the call center's second language. Usually cross contamination. They have to ingest actual nuts for it to be an issue. I'll grab something at Starbucks to take with us. Our connection in Munich is tight.

If you are concerned about allergies you have to book a special meal. They are good about it.

Taking something that is guaranteed to be free of nuts is always my friend's go to option. Not worth risking problems ever when flying =)

On my recent LOT B787-8 flight they made an announcement that everyone on board should refrain from eating any nuts, because there was a pax on board who was allergic to them.

Recent kid's meal on LH
A kid's J meal on a recent MUC-CDG flight with a late morning departure - was appreciated by our three-year-old, especially the pancake filled with chocolate mousse for dessert. For kids a good alternative to the Tasting Heimat meals.

Lufthansa Jain Meal in J Frankfurt to SFO - what would it be like?
Considering ordering Jain meals for flights from Triana to Vienna to Frankfurt to SFO.
Anyone with experience or photos on what that would be in J / Business Class on Long Haul?
I am severely allergic to onions and Jain cooking does not include onions.
But I am worried about ending up with rice and a roll for 20 hours of flying. Or maybe just a banana which I hear is the new trend.
Could I select Jain meals and also pre order a business class meal (would get beef which seems to be safest bet usually).
What will choosing Jain special meals and preordering a business class meal lead to?
