Arrow Will one of the bookings be deleted?

What happens if I book two seats on the same flight under the same name?
Will they cancel one of the bookings?
Reason: I booked a ticket in business class and I see that the rate is now lower! So I would book a new ticket and cancel the old one after I have booked the new one!
Do you think I could have a problem?

Make sure your old ticket is fully refundable before you cancel it...

Doesn't LH have a 24-hour period, like other airlines, within which you can cancel any booking free of charge?

Think you would probably have to phone, rather than cancelling on-line.

You will get a refund quicker by cancelling online.

The OP didn't mention he booked his original flight in the last 24h.

LH has dupe check algorithms in place and usually ask why you have two bookings: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/lufth...t-29-07-a.html

Either way it shouldn't harm you, as long as you can cancel the other ticket.

Conflicting bookings -- will LH notice?

Hypothetically, if one was planning to drop the last leg of an itinerary of say, USA-FRA-ZZZ (016 stock, UA codeshare USA-FRA, LH metal). And one has a flight booked FRA-XXX (220 stock, LH metal), should this “one” be concerned about the timing of Check-In for FRA-XXX? Being that USA-FRA is on LH metal, a LH check-in will already have been done.

this would require manual audit in order to be noticed. Unless they are watching you due to repeated offenses the likelihood of being caught is 0.

LH does what they call horizontal and vertical duplicate checks to protect their revenue integrity. In your case if everything has been ticketed I don't see why you should have any problems.

When the connecting flight ex FRA is LH as well! be aware!
LH is doing cross check this overlaping bookings recently more & more
You need a good time difference between your flights departing at FRA

Is USA-FRA-XXX the same flight as FRA-XXX?

If it is the same flight it might be flagged as a double booking with one of the bookings then being cancelled.

Read the first post. The two tickets are USA-FRA-ZZZ and FRA-XXX. FRA-ZZZ and FRA-XXX can't be on the same flight.

I think it has been asked before, but what right does LH have cancelling confirmed and paid tickets? There will be fare rules and penalties in place, so why does LH think it's OK to cancel these tickets beforehand?

HTB.
