This was your flight which I assumed was on the 8th...

And even LH said it was New.

Or maybe you flew 447 yesterday (9th) when 447 went back to a non-retrofitted bird?
Yes. My flight was July 9th. So must be an alternate day schedule then. One with retrofitted seats and other with old F.

Thanks guys...I got it! Ironically every time I'd booked it on an F award over the past few years, I'd always get the 2 seats upstairs instead at the last minute, so was nice to finally experience!

No First class left on LH B744s?

Check Asia and American routes and it seems no F/A available.

As you will see in this thread three remaining 744s with seat+bed on the upper deck are almost exclusively flying on routes with no First Class service.

List of 747-400 First

Are there any more flights of Lufthansa 747-400 to the US with the new first class, if not where are they flying to?

I am 99% sure all of the LH 747-400s in active service no longer have F.

Correct. 13 remaining 747-400s in service have no F. Technically I believe there are still two more 747-400s somewhere in FRA but I believe they are being stripped of all seating.

Found the thread I was thinking of:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/lufth...it-thread.html

There are currently 15 x B744 based in FRA. 13 (D-ABTK/TL/VM/VO/VP/VR/VS/VT/VU/VW/VX/VY/VZ) have new C but no F, and remaining two (D-ABVL & D-ABVN) still with seat and bed on the upper deck will be retired.
According to the links there D-ABVL & D-ABVN have not flown recently at all, so as you note they are likely getting stripped of seating and retired.

They have flown their last scheduled flights earlier this month but still seem to be around FRA as far as I know.

Wow, I now find myself very fortunate to have taken a ride on one last year, the first class bed was amazing. Didn't they only put these new first class seats in them only a few years ago and already taking them out, I wonder what they do with the "old seats" as they seemed almost new.

The seat+bed combo F was done using refurbished recaro F seats of 1998 vintage and adding a small bed from the standard inventory of LH Technik workshop in HAM, who usually do VIP aircraft. The cost of that seat solution was minimal compared to buying a new complete B/E Oasis seat. Which would have been too heavy for the 744 upper deck anyway.

Do you have any idea how much these Oasis seats cost?
