New First class retrofit thread
Summary of aircraft with the new First Class cabin by LH hub (updated 27 February 2015)
FRA - 14 x A380 : 11 x B744 : 18 x B748i : 8 x A333
No FRA-based A346 has new F. All A343s are or will be turned into two class aircraft without the F cabin.
MUC – 18 x A346 (out of 19, 1 being retrofitted) : 8 x A333
No longhaul Boeing aircraft or A343 is based in MUC All MUC-based longhaul aircraft now have new F
DUS - no aircraft with F
=============== How do I check if my flight will have new F?
Lufthansa's flight status page now tells you if flights in the next 5 days will have new F or not. Go to Flight Status, enter the flight number or flight route and select the date. Click Display Flight Status. On the next screen select Additional options, then Flight details. If the aircraft scheduled to fly on the day has new F you'll see "Neue/New First Class".
LH has added a new tool to check flights about 60 days out.
=============== Status as of 19 April 2015
744 : all 11 with new F are based in FRA: 3 are without F, but have new C. 3 more are being retrofitted with new C.
B748i : all 15 are based in FRA and have new F and C.
A380 : all 12 are based in FRA and have new F, of which 8 have new C.
A346 : 18 retrofitted so far (1 being retrofitted) all based in MUC.
Correct. D-AIHT transferred to MUC on 1st March and now appears to be flying random destinations from MUC.
Cant understand why LH has put all their 346 with new F to MUC.
I can't, and that's not just because I prefer flying from MUC. As long as you have a small subfleet it's much better to have them in one place, so that you can schedule them reliably. Much better to offer new F 95% of them time on a few routes in MUC and then on and off on various routes.
