Maybe it's time to think about re-opening this board again?

The press release:

January 19, 2015 10:47 AM UTC
Lufthansa Group | Passenger Business
bmi and LH to offer joint routes from MUC

Broader partnership: bmi will fly directly to Munich from Rotterdam, Liθge and Bern starting on 29 March 2015. These connections will be offered as code-share flights with joint BM and LH flight numbers. bmi already flies twice a day in association with Lufthansa from Bristol to the Bavarian capital.

Cathal O'Connell, CEO of bmi, commented: "The new routes represent an important step forward for bmi and strengthen our relationship with Lufthansa substantially. Our experience with the Bristol to Munich connection has shown that Munich Airport is both an attractive destination in its own right and a key hub with excellent flight connections."

Thomas Klόhr, member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board, responsible for finances and the Munich hub, declared: "Lufthansa is pleased to be extending its partnership with bmi. Rotterdam, Liθge and Bern are very important markets for Lufthansa, and with bmi as our partner we can come up with the perfect fit for meeting their needs. Passengers experience fast, simple and easy transfers to our 120 worldwide destinations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and South America and Africa."

About bmi

bmi is an independent airline with over 70 years of experience in the United Kingdom and Europe. The airline is headquartered at East Midlands Airport in the UK and is the only British airline to operate an all-jet fleet, made up of 49-seater Embraer 145s and 37-seater Embraer 135s. It now offers more than 300 scheduled flights a week to over 20 destinations in eight European countries. The company currently employs around 400 people.

According to http://airlineroute.net/2014/10/14/lh-maa-w14/

Lufthansa from 26OCT14 is adjusting service on Frankfurt – Chennai route, as Boeing 747-400 aircraft being scheduled to operate this route for Winter season. Initially, this service will be served by 3-class aircraft, including First Class, from 26OCT14 to 14FEB15 (FRA departure). This will switch to 2-class aircraft from 15FEB15.

LH758 FRA1015 – 2350MAA 744 D
LH759 MAA0150 – 0730FRA 744 D
LH is supposed to operate 2 class 747 from Chennai from Feb 15, if that is the case is it safe to assume that UD will be business class or am i reading something wrong here (since seat selection in my booking does not show UD business class)?

It will probably be operated with the remaining 4 744 aircraft that will retain the F cabin till they retire in 2016.

bmi Regional to start MUC-LGG (Liege) codeshare with LH

Quite astounded to see that bmi will start this route and codeshare with LH effective 29MAR. I believe this is the first scheduled route from LGG in years.

Only issue is I can't find any fares filed as the codeshare. LH churns out an error and there's nothing on ITA.

Fares are bookable on bmiregional.com but its the codeshare that would be most useful to me.

Now the question is if we actually can get some M&M points for this flight.

I'm also a bit surprised by the reintroduction of scheduled services from LGG. What's the added value? There are loads of other airports within 150 km, most of them (MST, for example) either struggling to stay alive, offering loads of budget airline options (CGN, EIN and CRL, for example) or a much better infrastructure and connectivity (BRU, DUS, etc).

It's true its an odd route, there are not an awful amount of businesses in the area that I'd imagine would benefit particularly as you note it is now around 1h (slightly less) from BRU to Liege Guillemins with the new SNCB retimings and should you wish to endure the Belgian traffic then around the same by car. LGG is a big freight hub for TNT and a few other carriers but apart from that is exclusively holiday charters.

I wish them luck but I can't see it lasting very long.

Do we get access to the lounge in FRA when booked under the (soon to be determined) LH#.

According to http://www.experiencetheskies.com/mo...aviation-news/ Looks like LH402/403 will be replaced from a 747-400 to a 747-8 starting Feb 23 with LH402.

That's a quick turnaround from delivery to service.
