I have a Nov 4 VIE-IAD flight. I have two pax and bid 330 eur each. I do not get my hopes up. Business seems rather full by flyerexpert.

What does the Smart Upgrade charge show up as on Credit Card?
Thanks for the advice everyone. Some longhaul legs have a 250 euro minimum bid and others have a 200 euro minimum bid.
One last question: what does the charge show up as on one's credit card? I'm trying to figure out if it shows up as Austrian (in which case we'd use the AMEX Gold for 3x points on airlines) or as this third-party that manages it for Austrian (in which case we'd use another card).
I will post results next week.

It's just my assumption, but bid inventory recalc is done precisely T-3d, while evoucher is done since T-7d daily. The power comes with upgrading early. It would be interesting though to know, if it is status or money on T-3 that has the upper hand, as it is LH, we know what comes first in the matter of upgrades

I think they try to sell seats first (J, C, D for direct flight is a lot of money and for connecting flights availability is always worse to equalise revenue per segment) and then if unsold will be able to sell unused seats at check in counter.
I upgraded my return flight with e-vouchers but the system did not remove my upgrade offer and was still able to bid which is weird after I removed the offer.
Availability in J is zero or near zero on the BKK route, looks like people really like the new OS product.

Final update - got 1 of 3 upgrades. Looks like AA is launching with PlusGrade.
260 Euros - rejected
240 euros - rejected.
270 euros - accepted.
It looks like OS likes selling upgrades when both business and economy are empty. I suppose it's worth 270 euros to have a proper bed instead of a row of 4 seats to myself.
