As though giving pax a 3 month period of grace to use their miles before they are devalued would change anything!

I have said it before since the airline limits the number of flights being made available in the first place chances are even if a small fraction of the total M&M members decided to even try to use their miles before they are devalued in that 3 month period in all honesty maybe an even smaller hand full would actually suceed in using a portion of their miles.

End of story is the LH has once again won leaving us with a bad taste in the mouth AGAIN.

After my experience over the last 6 months I too am begining to think that collecting these miles is not worth my time.

As much as I hate to defend LH - but I was able to book 2 very long premium awards in peak season on waitlist and cleared when that last devaluation has taken place.

Sure LH was a thug when they did it so surreptitiously but it's not like BD which gave a 4 day warning and then de facto blocked all access to all call centers. Everything at LH stayed operational.

So you were lucky besides you also have status that also plays into that equation.

He clarified the purported lifetime SEN/HON issue over at VFF: http://www.vielfliegerforum.de/viewt...3991&start=240

No, that had little to do with luck - I booked two awards at (which I waitlisted and cleared about one week out) the very last hours the still lower redemption levels were alive. One 2 months, the other 11 months into the future.

With BD - the moment they announced that they'd quit the *A, I tried to burn the rest of my miles but there was no getting through....

But that writing was on the wall for a long time ....

I burned through 400k BD Miles in one year.
The remaining 20k or so were consolidated into one account and then moved to BA.

You consider this a form of justification?

The remaining 20k or so were consolidated into one account and then moved to BA.
I did not even succeed in doing so - the online services did not work and about 45 tries to get it done on the phone or via registered letter failed.

Is BA more reasonable in small claims court than LH is btw? What is your experience?

But he does not inform his regular readers "what the content of the settlement" with LH was.
