Had interesting experiences on LX38 and LX 39.

Business completely overbooked on both flights.

First cabin had five empty seats (all in the center and one window). Looked like three were upgraded from business. One had no obvious status with M&M (and seemed to be on a UA codeshare) and the other seemed like a UA elite. Couldn't tell about the third.

On the way back, the four middle seats were empty. Four business passengers were upgraded, although all seemed to have some status with M&M (couldn't tell whether SEN or HON).

Surprising because I thought F upgrades were hard to come by on LH/LX FRA/ZRH/MUC to SFO and back.

My last op-ups were in August 2015, and before that in December 2013, as SEN (with almost 2 Stars) and at ~25 segments per year that were not in the highest travel class of the respective flights.

Revenue management doing its job?

In 2018 I had one C->F on LX and one on LH. This year one of LX so far.

I see plenty of C-F op-ups this year in LX. Up to four in one flight.

Strongly doubt F is selling out for revenue tickets all the time, but C is most certainly packed on my SFO/EU flights.

If anyone can beat FRA-NUE in the pointless op-up stakes I'd be interested in hearing it.

i got one FRA-ZAG on OU booked as LH Codeshare last week, but this month I flew 75K miles with LH and 0 on long haul. Usually I am booked in E or G... LH regenue management does such an incredinle job, all the LH Y+ flights to US and Asia went out with 1 or 0 enpty seats in Y+

3 months ago, FRA/GIG from PY(N) to C.
I got a message at drop off counter.
Operator said, when she opened my booking, the op up message was there.
Full of carnival tourists(me too ).
Even C class cabin, costume passengers took videos, photos since before taking off.
During dinner, loud talking, drinking drinking drinking....
Totally different from usual LH C class cabin with business passengers.
I was wondered how was Y class cabin.

Is AS more generous with upgrades than LH/LX?

Did you mean: AS is more agressivly overbooking? ;-)

And congrats anyway - only had one op-up so far (but well, that was C->F on FRA-HND, so I dont complain much).
