Yesterday in AMS Y(S)-> C on a CRJ900. Pleasant surprise. I think my last op-up was from I to F three years ago (October 30, 2015).

about 4 weeks ago on a LX flight from VIE ==> ZRH from eco (H) to Business as a FTL.
Nice thing was, plane was a A 340, so propper seat (on this 55 minutes flight).
Plane was full!!!

Recently VIE-YYZ, from I (award Y+) to C. Fare actually paid was H.

Good to read. As FTL I don't get any of these, even at Christmas time! But I suppose it could still happen sometime.

I think I gave up to hope for an opup: My last one was in July 2015; since then: ~180 segments with LX/LH/OS all as SEN.

You know, I got quite a few when I had no status. On one of them, FRA-GVA, I couldn't believe how bad business class was and that people would actually pay for it (was in 2005). On Swiss TravelClub I got quite a lot of upgrades on longhaul.

On intra-EU flights, if you have *G, I see the only benefit of paying up for business as "buying" more miles, status miles, select miles, and HON Circle miles.
