Do you think they will do a big thing out of this? I mean, they have three?! other A380 destinations already but this is the first one to the States for LH.. I'm booked on LH400 on the 18/2 and I'll keep my fingers that there might be some give-aways or something..

I'm just curious because I'll be on the first A380 flight to SIN.

I'm booked on 401 (JFK-FRA) on July 1 and 400 (FRA-JFK) on July 4 in business class, it was an a380 when booked but I check my itinerary and the seat map shows 747, I was looking forward to that new plane smell, am I going to be stuck on the 747?

just flew LH400 on the A380 in Business. It was a nice experience (although the product itself is average at best - see my tripreport for more details) Maybe you can rebook to another date if you`re flexible.

I have a flight with A380 Lufthansa for the first time. Could someone recommend a good place in the economy class please. I am flying with a companion and I chose seat 50J and 50K. or maybe better will be in row 61A,B or 78A,B.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Yes, it looks like there has been an equipment change, and we wil have a trusty ol' 747-400 this time.

If 75B,C or 75H,J are free, those might be good with a companion, as you have exit door space and no one sitting next to you. 76A,K are also good in my experience with nothing in front of you as a single traveler, but 76B,J next to them are not special.

One aircraft was a little bit damaged by a truck while parked at the airbus plant in Hamburg, waiting for delivery to LH.
This newest A380 will now be delivered by Airbus with an approx. delay of 4 weeks to Lufthansa on July 4th.

For a single traveler, I personally like 76A/K most (exit row space and relatively quiet). However, the downside is that you might need some time to get out of the aircraft upon arrival being that far back in the plane.
53D/G might be an alternative (bulkhead, the wall in front leaves some space to stretch your legs). However, you are likely to be close to a bassinet.

I flew FRA-JFK in First Class recently (aircraft was "Beijing", so I think the first A380 that LH received).
The FC cabin already looked a little worn. In particular, the carpet looked really bad (a little torn and stained). Also, there were large areas of stains on the seats (as if someone sweaty had been sitting in the seats, not only mine).
Overall, LH missed the opportunity to elevate the FC experience to a new level (EK, EY are far ahead).
