I have to admit that I forgot about the opening today and went to the FCL instead.

Good news for you, szg. ^ There may still be some beer left in 2 days time.

Yes, I was there a few hours ago. I must admit I was a bit disappointed. If I could, I would have done as Rambuster did, but instead I headed over to the SEN lounge.

It is basically just a small section in the middle of the business lounge with new tables and benches, and today at least, a young couple dressed in traditional attire who served the few patrons who did not prefer the other parts of the lounge.

So, they have Weissbier in LH F (even if it's only Erdinger) ?

or were you referring to the F lounge?

Yes they do. But they really could afford to stock something better there, Weihenstephaner for example.

I stopped in last week on the morning of the 24th. Nothing terribly exciting, as described, so I went across to the Senator Cafe.

We (6 SEN/HON FT/VFTers) invaded the place on thursday to take a look what the buzz was all about. What a disappointment. The new look refurb of the FTL / C lounge was nice, but the 'beergarden' element a joke. They just stuck some Alp scenery posters (in the line of 'sound of music) below the skylight and put chic benches below it. All sponsored by a bavarian brewery. Probably owned by the Warsteiner holding company

Worse... Anheuser-Busch-IbBev

And the benches, while looking pretty, are going to be a mess when the place is crowded, as you have nowhere to put bags, and sitting down / getting up without annoying your neighbors is a bit of a challenge. So people will put bags next to themselves on the benches, and then three people can sit down on each. Stupid.

I was seriously expecting the standard issue orange surface / green leg benches and tables they have in normal beergardens and at the Oktoberfest, but that would arguably look a bit out of place

Well, I would have thought they would have done it a little differently than sticking a bunch of posters on a skylight. If I wouldn't have know it was supposed to be a beer garden, I never would have guessed
