Hotel Near USC
Gotta take my DS Alex for an scholarship interview at SC. He's staying on campus overnight but I need to find a place. Need something safe and clean BUT don't want to spend too much. I'm low maint.
Thanks for any suggestions.. the school mentions the Radison next to campus but IF they had a room it would be around $235, a bit high for "just a Radison" (with extra charge for parking, of course)

Parking is going to be extra no matter where you stay...
I would stay at Radison which is right across the street from USC and park your rental car on campus. The one-day parking pass at USC is $8 for the whole day with in/out privilege, much cheaper than parking at any hotel. If Radison is not your thing, try the hotels by LA Live area (Ritz, JW Marriot, Holiday Inn), which are 5 minute drive (or 10 minute bus ride) away. But you have to pay $30 a day for parking.

You can usually priceline a 4* hotel in downtown for $75-80/night. Even adding the $30/night for hotel parking that is not bad. There are also some cheaper places you can park overnight depending on what hotel you are at.
If you do not want the Radison or a downtown hotel, you could look at the Crowne Plaza at the Commerce Casino. About 10 minutes away without traffic, but generally should be easy to get to/from USC and should have a rate in the low $100s.
