Quick Service at LP
Faxed in a request for an Labor Day trip from DFW - SJO on Tuesday. Flying on TACA. Had to pay $75 for each of the two tickets for the expedite fee. Was amazed when the tickets showed up 2 days later (although Fedex delivered them to the wrong address). I even charged the fees to a cc
Seems like things are getting better at LP

You had to pay two expedite fees for the two tickets for a total of $150??? I thought it was only one expedite fee no matter the number of tickets? Anyone?

I thought it should have been only one charge of $75 as well. Afterall, they sent both tickets in one envelope. Anyone else had any different experiences?

In February, I only had to pay one expedite fee for four tickets. That was before they changed the fee schedule. In July, I ordered four tickets IAD-SJO with 32 calendar days left before departure and more than 21 business days left. I figured they would ticket it 30 days before departure as their recent policy states. I called with 28 days left and was told they don't issue tickets until 21 business days after the request or 30 days prior to departure, whichever is LATER. I said that would be cutting it close. Then I asked about expediting and was told it would be $75 x 4. They changed the policy but did not make it clear in the updated fee schedule. I choose to wait (sweat) it out, and the tickets showed up about two weeks before departure, via certified US mail.
$75 per ticket IS outrageous. But I guess they are really hurting for cash for obvious reasons. Even if I had paid, the four business class tickets would have been more than worth it. FWIW, I had another great trip with great service on TACA and LACSA.

dhacker, yes your experience was what I recalled when I posted above. Hmm, yet another change I see. Though I do agree that the $75 fee is mostly justified for international business class.
Your most recent experience is one that I went through also. For whatever reason they delayed sending out my ordered tickets. When I called to ask where my tickets were it was obvious they had screwed up. They told me there would be an expedite fee even though it wasn't my fault. I raised the b******t flag and told them in no uncertain terms that there was no way I was going to pay $75 due to their screw up. In the end they agreed and sent me the tickets Fedex.
