Not able to select seats on a codeshare flight. Please Help

Hi All

I've been following this amazing forum for some time now but now I have to write my first post as I couldn't find the answer to my question.

I've just booked the following flights through an online agent:
LHR-GRU-LIM and return LIM-MAD-LHR. All economy. The itinerary was booked as LATAM Chile while the flights are operated by LATAM Brazil (to lima) and Iberia (from lima).

when I go on either LATAM or IBERIA website my reservation is there but I'm unable to select seats. We're flying with a <2yr old so would like to get/purchase bulkhead seats.
I've called LATAM but they say that given the flight is operated by LATAM Brazil and it was booked as LATAM Chile they are unable to assign seats (even if I want to pay). They obviously cannot assign seats on Iberia either. When I called Iberia they are unable to assign seats on Iberia flights; They suggested to call latam to get an Iberia specific booking code, which I tried, but LATAM cannot see any numbers other than a 5symbol agancy booking ref. Calling the agency didn't help either. So basically I'm told that i can only select seats during checkin at the airport.

given we're flying with our baby and these are long haul flights, we'd like to reserve our seats now rather than waiting and risking seating at a random seat.

I think there's probably not much more I can do but is there anything else I could try? Any hints would be great.

thanks

m

Hi, i have done this before with a SCL GRU LHR MAD (LHR MAD with Iberia) flight. I booked that fly with Latam Chile. What you will need to do is call Latam and ask for the Latam Brasil (or TAM) booking code. That code will be the one that works with Iberia or BA check in system.

You can also try to pick up your seat (with the TAM code) in the Latam Brasil site.

Just put your booking code into Trip Case and it will automatically also show the Amadeus (JJ) code. You can then choose your seats on the LAN BRAZIL website.
