LA2510 delayed
I've been trakking the behaviour of LA2510 because I'll fly it on Thursday. The past 3 days it has departed around mid-day instead of 9.20, as schedule.
Any insider knows why? A wild guess is that it arrives late from its previous flight and another bird might be down in the network, affecting the LIM-MIA service (I cc-chx had tech issues twice this month).
I am just planning ahead of time, because if I will stay in LIM for 3 hours extra, I might not pass by security and indulge myself in the smoke-friendly parking lot for a while.

Do no such thing as staying outside for 3 hours. No need to.
LA2510 has indeed been affected by network delays impacting LAN's morning departure wave. While no one can give definite assurance and many many things can and do happen in the last minute in this industry, keep in mind that LAN's international departures from LIM are most of the time on schedule.
If you do end up getting delayed, all is not lost: there's a part-restaurant-part-bar across the hall from gate 19 that sports a smoking area. All you need to do is purchase a beer or a soft drink and you can stay for a couple of hours with no issues.

Thanks for that info, I didn't know about the smoking area inside. What is the name of the bar? (I hope they accept pipes!)

I don't remember the name (which is a shame since I was there just 24 hours ago) but there's no way you are going to miss it. It is right across the hall from gate 19 and it's quite big.
Once you are there, go all the way in to the back. There's a separate area behind a glass wall, with a view to the rear platform and gates. that's your spot.
If for some reason you don't find it, as anyone from the airport staff where the restaurant with the smoking area is and they'll point you in the right direction. If you need to ask in spanish, just say "donde est el restaurant donde se puede fumar?" and you'll be on your way
I've been there many times and have not seen anyone with pipes. I have, however, seen many people smoking cigars and nobody complained. There's no signs banning pipes either.
Enjoy your flight

Thanks! Don't worry, I'm a local. The odd thing is that I've never heard of this place. I remember a while ago, when you could smoke in Sumaq, but they changed it and I was left without a place to smoke inside.

Yes! I miss Sumaq too. That outside terrace was heaven (and the freshly squeezed OJ really made a difference)
the new one opened not long ago. The restaurant/bar isn't new but I believe the smoking area is. I believe it was opened on late 2014. They don't advertise it much though.
I hadn't realized you were a local (yet I keep writing to you in english, being a native spanish speaker too, haha).
Que tengas buen viaje, saludos desde SCL
