I can confirm that it's still 40,000 & 4 on both Argentina AND U.S. sites.

We kind of discussed this a while back ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other...in-2011-a.html ), but it would be a good idea to list somewhere which countries have the new requirements for qualification.

Has anyone else noticed that LANPASS Category qualifying segments are not listed in the summary?

I have 4 qualifying KM accumulating segments with LAN this year and it says 0.

(Colombia and Peru sites)

What's "medium" range/haul?

I guess YYZ-JFK and MAD-FRA/CDG ain't medium haul. How about AKL-SYD? One can score J tickets across the Tasman fairly cheaply. With a Peru address only 8 segments are needed for oneworld Emerald!

I am wondering the same thing. Where is the "medium" limit? Would something like SCL-BOG count? SCL-LAN would not, I assume? In BA Exec. Club, the limit to get 120 instead of 40 tier points is 2000 miles for a flight. Where does LAN draw the limit so that the J segments count?

Los vuelos en Premium Business deben ser de medio o largo alcance, segn la definicin de LANPASS sern aquellos vuelos LAN, internacionales, en Clase Ejecutiva, cuya distancia entre puntos sea mayor a 1.600 kms

So over 1600km. BOG LIM would be medium haul but it doesn't have a J class

BOG to MIA does have a J class and is 2400km

Yes SCL to BOG would count but it would have to be direct in a B767-300ER. if you hop it up the coast Antofagasta, Iquique, Lima, Bogot than you are in A319s that only have premium economy

Disclaimer: That info is from LAN's Colombian site, lordy knows what it might be on their other sites

Thanks very much JohnnyColombia! Mmmmh...I'd already be there had I known this. How does LAN Comodoro compare to BA Gold? I could probably go for either one this year still.

You're right! I have a 0 as well... I checked the previous years in my statement and the segment numbers have become 0s

Looking for help, running out of ideas. So to get more J segments, why not do a connection on an upcoming YOW-LIM-YOW flight, right? So looking at JFK to GYE or BOG or CCS then on to LIM giving 4 J segments (instead of 2) and instant Premium Silver and do it twice for Comodoro, pretty attractive, right?

No LAN flights JFK-CCS or BOG only JFK-GYE
But then GYE-LIM is not qualified as long haul over 1600 km
As pointed out, BOGLIM has no J class
And there are no One World connections between GYE and either BOG or CCS!!!

So MIA-BOG then, but again no J for BOG-LIM
MIA-GYE then, but no, not a long haul to LIM.
Maybe MIA to CCS, can get there but the MIA-CCS is 9:05am, hard to get connecting YOW-MIA flight that early, and besides, coming back the LIM-CCS arrives after the once weekly Friday CCS-MIA flight so an overnight, not too good.

Any ideas out there to help me?

What about GYE-LIM connecting in SCL?

Wow, didn't know you could backtrack like that... the GYE-SCL has a escala in LIM... but I guess why not, what do they care. At a quick glance, it works but adds some expense and time but, hey, 6 J segments. Need a bit of time to work it out with space available flights, Thanks!

I wonder if the easing of LanPass level requirements might be a function of the number of frequent fliers who have qualified (or not) in Peru. I just flew Lim-Lax and was the only Commodore on the flight who was a Peruvian resident. There were 10 from Chile.

Hmm, good / interesting comment! If so it has impacts on planning our Peru trips and upgrades.

Curious, though, how did you discern the difference... bigger wallets?
