The same thing happened at the airport; my flight out was delayed. The same problem persisted while I waited in NYNY for Zumanity to start.

I did a couple of re-boots, even a hard re-boot, and nothing seemed to help. After being off-strip and not having these problems (ate off-strip, went to the Atomic Missile Museum, and the Ethel M Chocolate factory), I'd conclude it is due to the over-volume of people using cell phones in the Strip area. And of course, as soon as my flight landed at PHX, all has been normal.
Same exact experience on an iPhone at the Wynn/Encore last week. It's weird because I hadn't noticed this on previous trips there in June/April/January. Had no problem at all while I was at Palms Place.

Using my mobile broadband right now. Online for about 30 mins and it has gone from 3G to Edge and back at least 5 times now

Not sure if I should dredge up an old thread or start anew, but I'm convinced that some properties are blocking cell reception. I can be walking outside enjoying 4G and the moment I get close to a property it drops to Edge if I'm lucky. In my room at the Paris even standing right next to the window I could only get sporadic Edge. Walked outside and bingo, right back to 4G. Maybe they want us to buy their expensive WIFI instead of using our hot spots?

Outside the strip area I had no problems using my T-Mobile 4G.

No problem with either T-Mo (smartphone) or Sprint (Mi-Fi) at Cosmo.

I've noticed this at an Embassy Suites in Phoenix. Inside the room no data signal, but go out on the balcony, or into the parking lot, or to the mall next door... and 4G comes up with a full cell signal.

If you have AT&T and an iphone, download the app "mark the spot" (not sure if there is an android app). Use the app to identify where you lost data, voice, dropped calls, etc. I use it all the time and have had two cell towers repaired on my commute to work that would have been offline for who knows how long.

I doubt they are intentionally blocking signal. Imagine the lawsuit if a 911 call couldn't get through because of an intentional act? More than likely, there is so much interferance and signal degradation from being indoors that the voice/data can't transmit. The last thing any casino wants you to do is go outside!

In my case the cell signal was just fine. Only the data signal took a dump.

My comments still stand. Use the "Mark the spot" app and notate loss of data.

Its an amazing app that really does get results from AT&T. I've had 3 cell sites repaired because problems were reported from the app.
