They are both in the Pacific Time Zone.
If you drive across Hoover Dam (a few miles southeast of Las Vegas) you will cross into the Mountain Time Zone.

Thanks, sorry going completely OTT here but I need to get my Dad something, I'm going to the Grand Canyon, by helicopter in evening seeing at sunset then bus tour next day, he does like wood turning, it's a hobby, are there any shops that sell wooden things...

Are there any shops in Vegas that sell wooden things? Like, gallery art? Or just handmade toys and lamps and things?

Since Arizona does not observe dst, even though it is MTZ, the times are NOW the same. After Oct. 28, 2007, when dst ends, things will be back to "normal."

I saw the effect of this once at a motel in Kayenta where people were arriving at what they thought was ~ 5:30pm for their held-until-6pm hotel reservations -- which had, of course, been given away to others since they weren't there by 6pm, local time.
And it's a very, very long drive to the next place with any sort of decent motel

Except in the Navajo and Hopi nations, which DO observe DST.
