I saw the effect of this once at a motel in Kayenta where people were arriving at what they
thought was ~ 5:30pm for their held-until-6pm hotel reservations -- which had, of course, been given away to others since they weren't there by 6pm, local time.
And it's a very, very long drive to the next place with any sort of decent motel

From what I've seen, Hopi is on Arizona time, not Navajo time.
