I'm not sure how long, but much of the pool area is closed for construction. A smaller pool, over near the Canyon Ranch Spa remains open. The large pool area which extends out toward LV Blvd is closed and being completely rebuilt.

Just realized I've stayed at the Venetian about 8 times, and I've never even seen the pool.

Can tell you I just got back Monday - didn't see the Venetian pool but most places were starting to fill their pools up with water as we were leaving - kind of depressing for us but I think many will be up and running by month's end - Caesar's and a couple of others already had some people swimming.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone.

I actually have 2 adjoining venezia bella suites reserved for the weekend of 3/31, and it turns out that the Venezia pool will be open so our concerns are unfounded.

Anyone gonna be there that weekend?
Anyone have any bachelor party advice?

All input is welcome!
JK

I was swimming on Sunday in 76 degree weather... nice! The MGM, Orleans, and Tropicana all had at least one pool open.

Wish I was able to party with a fellow FTer. Enjoy the NCAA Final Four at a sports book or casino party. Don't let a cabbie recommend a club for you... Have fun!

Ditto. :)

Seen it from the room tho. Glad to hear that it is getting remodeled. It looked like an concrete wasteland. Awful setup for a luxury property.

Venetian pool was open yesterday

The Venetian has 3 pools, one of which will always remain open throughout all of the construction/upgrades.

Any idea what the new pool will be like and when? I stayed there a few years ago and didn't look at it. It got hammered in a Vegas pool review, excerpted below. It was the only one to get a grade of F. I was thinking of staying there in June, but a decent pool would be nice (not that the rest of Venetian isn't fabulous)

Venetian: F

The scene: You would think that a resort based on a city of canals would offer a second-to-none water feature. You would be so, so wrong. Our venom for this particular pool arises from the shock that this $1.5-billion casino, which in so many other ways is sensational--elaborate paintings, enormous and elegant suites and innovative gondola rides--would offer a pool area that's not only unimpressive but also downright hideous.

Finding the two pools is a game of wandering through a confusing maze of planters and walkways. Once you do make it through, you find two ordinary pools in a big, shadeless expanse. There's no view to speak of, except of the mustard walls, and even there is evidence of neglect: Black streaks are emerging on the paint.

Remember, this is one of the newest properties on the Strip, and its pool area is a great big failure.

I would say this review is pretty accurate.

The main pool area has 2 pools. The 3rd pool is in the Venezia tower and when we were last there (and staying in the Venezia tower) we were told it was only for guests in that tower. We never did check out that pool.

Maybe during the reno's the Venezia pool is open to all?

We're staying there at the end of April (picked up 2 nights @ $99 per night on Priceline) and will check out the pool situation then.

I got the same deal via email. Seems if they have your email on file with the Venetian Players Club you'll get the offer, or if you gave an email when you stayed with them previously.
