Should I get a car or take the taxi?
Hi,
I'm going for 2 nights / 1 day and staying at the Residence Inn Hughes Center. Should I rent a car or just take taxis around?
My initial thought is to take taxis since we will be out most of the day and not return to the hotel until at night. However, I heard after shows it is hard to get taxis. We are going to watch Mystere on a Friday night.
Any suggestions?

Taxis aren't terribly cheap, so if you plan to do a lot of car travel, the car would probably end up being cheaper; parking is free at the hotels.
If you want to walk up and down the strip at all, I'd suggest you not get a car. The distances between the hotels are pretty formidable, and you're not going to want to backtrack past three hotels to pick up your car, unless you plan out some kind of worthwhile circle trip ahead of time.

Get a car if:
- you won't be drinking
- you know how to get around town without using the Strip
- you can get a cheap rate ($15/day plus 27% taxes and fees)
Take taxis if:
- you don't mind long waits, cranky drivers, and occasionally being long-hauled

I'd rent a car. You could still Taxi it during your drinking moments.
