Hi qfeuro,
Congratulations and best wishes for the wedding & honeymoon.
You've come to the right place for advice - but do a search of this thread as you will likely find lots of discussion on deals and suite upgrades.

For our honeymoon last year, we received a lakeview upgrade plus some gifts.
If you book and make a note that your stay is a honeymoon, you may well find that you get (subject to availability) an upgrade from a lakeview to a better suite.

Make sure you get to see 'O', and see if there are some stories here of upgrades to better suites with 'the $20 trick'

At these prices, it might also be worthwhile to search for discussions on the MGM Skylofts (w. chauffeured Maybach 62) or similar hotels on the Strip (just so you know what is available besides the Bellagio).

I'm sure you'll find a huge amount of info here - and remember that if during your stay you have any trouble, the staff/management of the hotel should be able to make amends or compensate you, to ensure that you are entirely happy with your stay.

Cheers and enjoy ^

thanks bizibb (i'm also orignally from sydney, which is where the wedding will be).

i am a long time lurker, and have searched extensively. i was just wondering if this was way too much to be paying for this kind of room etc at the bellagio.

are there any usually any offers available at this hotel?
am i better booking directly through the hotel, or on another site? is the amex fhr worth it (plat. amex)?

if you book a suite, are there any "extras" you get that make it a little more worthwhile - ie. line passes, pref. bookings at restaurants etc etc

cheers

Just checked the MGM Skyloft is available for that period.
Average about $ 800 a night. Search this forum for the numerous
reviews and additional information on the Skylofts.
Great suite for a honeymoon ! In the "top 10" romantic rooms in the world
on one of the travel sites.

Book now! That CES show and the Adult show will get the prices sky high
if you dont book very early for that time frame. Busy time of year in Vegas

Might also want to check out the Four Seasons...

and... possibly the NEW SUITES in the new tower at Palms... some of these seem pretty awesome, especially for a honeymoon... IMHO, much more hip than Bellagio...

edited to add : nothing like a crib suite for your honeymoon ; you should make good use of the hydraulic bed...

Hey Baccarat_King

Any idea what those theme suits go for ?
Hope it cheaper than the price they wanted for the Real World suite.
The new Erotic suite looks interesting for a honeymoon.
Yeah Baby !

To the OP.
CES is 1/08/07 thru 1/11/07. AVN Expo is 1/10/07 thru 1/13/07.
These 2 conventions draw huge numbers of visitors to Las Vegas.
Largest crowds of the year.
Book your room and shows ASAP! It will save you $$$.

The Erotic Suite is $4,000 per night --- but $1,500/hand at baccarat for 4 hours a day should probably cover the comp.

(PS, some are a lot less expensive... I'll try to post the pricing run-down when I get a chance...)

My favorite was also the one w/ Andreo Boccelli. During December, they have several shows w/ Christmas music, which is also very nice.

I agree with Con de Partiro, followed by My Heart Will Go On. Both of these songs are very dynamic and do a great job of showing off the fountain's range - from the slow swaying arches, the sequential firing of the jets from one side of the lake to the other, and of course, the huge blasts. Every time I see them I'm in awe.

Anything by Sinatra seems to enhance the Bellagio Fountain mood for me

My favourite is the Pink Panther - mellifluous music, and ideal for the fountains.

My Heart Will Go On has been the one I liked best but I will now have to check out Boccelli's Con de Partiro when I am there this week.

Bellagio Penthouse Review etc

Just stayed at Bellagio Penthouse. A few things. When I called Amex I asked for Water/Fountain view. Rep said no problem.

Got to hotel and they gave me a terrible view of the back of building. Called downstairs to manager. She told me to take a hike. She told me that she reserves the worst rooms for AMEX Platnium . She told me NEVER a fountain view. It was my wifes Bday so I was pissed. Called AMEX to complain. They told me it was bad info from the AMEX rep and they would pay the 127.50 a night extra for the water veiw if available. We went and spoke to a different front desk manager. VIP services did not impress me at all.

FHR Benefits
Got 2 passes for the gym ($50.00 value)
2 Continental Breakfast for 2 (Value $30.00 ea.) They charge $7.00 for Oj in the cafe!
One SPA credit for merchandise ($25.00)
Late Checkout-I did not use this

I was happy to get fount view. Not thrilled with my first experience with the AMEX plat travel team for giving me the wrong info initially.

Bellagio Penthouse was big but had old VCR, and cheapo $200.00 color tvs. Not what you wuld expect in a room that goes to high rollers and can cost up to $800.00 a night or more. I go to Wynn next time. Wynn has plasma tvs in regular rooms. I guess MGM doesnt care. Rooms had an older feel and could use some fresh furnishings etc.

Bellagio also gave me great service in the past. I found VIP services to be lacking and the first mgr I spoke to was a real pill. I have only stayed in regular rooms in the past and been treated nicely.
