Bellagio with 10yo
I'm taking my daughter to Bellagio in early April. I'm aware that she cannot stop when walking through the casino but was wondering if there are any other restrictions we will face. For example, will we be able to have afternoon tea in Petrossian? Is there any other places that are out of bounds? Equally, is there anything that would be recommended?

Bellagio has lot's of families staying there. You daughter can not loiter in the casino, but she can cut through with an adult (21+). She can dine with you at any restaurant in Las Vegas that does not have gaming (meaning mainly bars). She should be fine attending afternoon tea, but you may want to contact Petrossian to make sure.
She may want to visit a "real" castle at Excalibur and play some games in the underground arcade. The pool is very nice at the Bellagio. Town Square has Game Works. Be sure to check out the Bellagio Fountains. You might want to ask this same question on Tripadvisor.com in the Las Vegas Forum. I am one of about dozen Destination Expert's for Las Vegas on that forum and I am sure some people can help that have kids.
Safe and happy travels to Las Vegas!

Non-gaming things in the casinos are fine, though. (And in practice this can mean loitering near slot machines while waiting to get in--I've never seen this cause problems.)

The Bellagio is pretty family friendly and you shouldn't have any issues. You'll find the Bellagio an extremely family friendly environment in all of their restaurants, shops and non-gaming offerings.
As others have noted, just don't allow her to loiter in the Casino and ensure she walks with you at all times when crossing the casino, which at the Bellagio, is quite often!
Have a great time!

She might also enjoy a visit to the M&M World store near MGM - they have a free 3D movie on the 3rd floor that is fun for kids. If that doesn't fill your desires for chocolate, compare and contrast the Hershey store across the street inside New York, New York. Check out the chocolate and twizzler Statues of Liberty. However, these are both mainly gift shops.
