I stay at Aria often & was there last month. Rooms are very large & I sometimes am lucky asking nicely for an upgrade when checking in. It is much more zen than MGM which i find to be hectic & chaotic. Nice bathrooms, good service. In the lobby is an amazing patisserie with good gelato. One negative is that pool is a bit of a hike to get to.
it is connected to the Crystal Shops if you want to buy designer stuff or window shop. There isn't really any fun stuff to do though. It is a good location but you will have to go outside the hotel.
Your kids might have fun playing with all the room control buttons to open/close drapes and lights...takes me a while to figure !

The pools are very nice -- mid 70's may be pool weather for you. There's a new food hall that offers different options which can work well for kids. The pizza place by the sports book is good.

But, there's not much else kid friendly about that particular resort. Bellagio is close with the fountains and cool chocolate store; also offers kid friendly Cirque de Soleil show O.
