Finding & using best awards
What's the best way to find J awards for Korean Air? Expert flyer shows they are blocked. Perhaps KVS tool? OR I was thinking which alliance partner shows availability but also who offers the best redemption rates from the Alliance? Delta is not that seems certain in my searches. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Have heard that searching on the Alaska Air website is reliable. Though KE seems to just be stingy in their award space overall, and even more so when releasing to OAL programs.

Korean has always held back award availability for their own Skypass members. This is particularly the case for Business and First awards when it was common (pre-Covid) to find availability using KE's own miles using their website (which has a good "flexible date" search) but not through partners. For Economy this is less of a problem. I agree with the last poster that Alaska's web site is a good place to look too, but you will not find seats there that may be held back for KE's own program. There is also a risk that with Alaska joining OneWorld, they may start to break off partnerships with other airlines outside of this alliance. But that is speculation.
However, big footnote to all this, Korean is planing major changes to their program effective 1st April. It is highly controversial in Korea right now (see other threads) and may be delayed (yet again). And right now the availability of anything other than Economy class seats on long haul flights is dreadful. It used to be fairly easy to secure business class seats on KE either at end of schedule or very close in. Neither is the case right now.
