Carry on Allowances in First Class

We're flying first class from LAX-ICN next week. My ticket lists the carry on allowance as "2". But does that mean two actually carryon approved sized bags or is that just a fancier way of "one carryon plus a personal bag (purse, computer bag, etc.)"

You get 2 carry-ons and 1 personal item. Usually I bring a 22" rolling carry-on, a 45L duffel with trolley sleeve, a 21L backpack and a small purse and they never have an issue though technically it's 2 and 2. I am able to stuff my purse into my backpack if needed, but have never been asked.
