1 or 2 Checked Bags? (JFK-ICN-MNL both ways)

I noticed Korean Air allows 2 checked 23kg bags for economy flights "to and from America" but only 1 for flights "within Asia".

I'm doing a round trip from JFK to MNL stopping in ICN from ~4AM to ~10AM both ways.

Since my trip contains 2 flights between ICN and MNL, should I follow the "within Asia" limit? Or am I OK bringing 2 because ICN is just a stopover?

Could ICN close during those night hours making it more than a stopover/requiring a new checkin?

How do you avoid fees with KE?

Are they on the same itinerary? If so, I'm fairly certain that it takes the higher allowance. In fact, if you check the KE website with your reservation information, the baggage information is shown at the bottom per-leg.

Check your ticket. It will tell you how many you should get, which should be two since you are departing from the US....as long as the trip is one ticket together.

Within Asia means departing from Korea. If you have a separate ticket ICN-MNL, you will follow this rule and only get the one bag.
