KAL JFK Lounge "Cinnamon Soda"
I know this is kind of an odd post, however, I was in the KAL first class lounge this evening at JFK's Terminal One and I noticed that they have some sort of delicious Cinnamon Soda/ juice only available to their first class passengers. It's not even on the business class side of the lounge!
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this/ knows what kind of beverage it is and if I can purchase it anywhere online?!

Sujeonggwa (Korean Persimmon Punch)
Serves 4
8 cups water
1/2 cuppeeled and thinly sliced fresh ginger
8 cinnamon sticks, rinsed
1 cup sugar
4 dried persimmons, stems removed
Pine nuts for garnish
Put water, ginger, and cinnamon sticks in a large pot
and bring to a boil. Cover, lower heat, and simmer for
one hour. Discard ginger and cinnamon sticks.
Add sugar and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring to
dissolve.
Strain liquid into a pitcher or bowl and add the
persimmons. Cool to room temperature and then
refrigerate for at least two hours and up to a couple
of days.
To serve, pour into cups or bowls and garnish with
pine nuts. The softened persimmons may also be
added whole or sliced.

If you go to any Korean/Asian supermarket, look for a can of this. That is unless you want to make it yourself. That Vilac (made by Korean Yakult) I believe is the most famous brand of the drink. They're also famous (even more so) for their shikhye (sweet rice drink).

I wonder what makes it special so that it's only found on the FCL side and not the BCL side. Like others who have chimed in, it's a popular traditional Korean drink and by no means considered "special" to the ordinary Korean folks.

Ive used the lounge at JFK as economy + morning calm (so not FC) and they had the drink there too; in the can, located with the other canned beverages.
