KLM destinations
Hello all
First of all I don't know if this is the right forum to post this but I'm making an thesis about the KLM and then in special about the profitability of KLM routes. I'm concentrating myself on the longhaul routes because I think these are the routes where KLM makes most of the profit. I was wondering the following things.
What are KLM most profitable routes?
Does KLM have many loss making routes?
Which are KLM's high and low yield routes?
Which routes are heavily dependent of Cargo?
Which routes are heavily dependent of Passenger ?
Which routes tend to be very profitable but only seasonal?
Are there routes that show high loadfactors but are still loss making?
Are there routes that show relative low loadfactors but are still profitable?
How does KLM select new destinations?
Which destinations are very likely to be opened by KLM in the not to distant future?
Answers will be much appreciated. Further I would request one thing. Please only reply if you know it and not if you guess it is so, as this is important for my school exam.
Thanks in advance

JFK, IAH, SIN, PVG, not necessarily in that order. GRU used to be up there, but numbers have slipped in the past couple of months.
CTU is in the red, but not dramatic. PEK is breaking even, but that should improve this summer. KAN is struggling as a tag on to ABV but yields are decent there. Same thing for KRT and ADD with KRT the weaker station, yet pretty decent yields.
TPE comes to mind, likely also (West) African routes.
YYZ is passenger heavy, so is MNL and KIX, SFO in summer as well as DEL in winter.
SFO and DEL are definitely two examples.
SFO in winter tend to be on the weak side, although loads are still not dismal.
Some of the Middle East destinations.
I would imagine that they pick stations that would have the best return of investment of scarce available resources.
As any airline, KLM is constantly looking into new destinations. GIG, EZE, LAD, someting in Pakistan and something additional in India are just some of the things being looked at. Don't discount the possibility that KLM choses to invest additional resources in the existing network, for instance by adding frequencies or creating new nonstop flights.

Also wouldn't it be so that most new routes aren't profitable from the start due to one-time investments as publicity campaigns.
What are the routes with the highest WBC loads?
