Opti Miles Question

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been covered, I can't find a definite answer to it. I want to book a reward ticket to Asia, but may decide to cancel (I may have to go there on business so will combine vacation with work).

If I book an Opti Miles ticket, do I get a full refund of all miles and money if I cancel ? If I book a normal reward ticket do i get anything apart from taxes back if i cancel ?

Thanks

Doug

I've cancelled an award flight before the ticket was issued and all miles were "refunded", while I didn't have to pay the 40 Euro change/cancellation fee. My guess is that if you cancel after the ticket has been issued, you "only" loose that fee, while all miles reappear in your account.

If you cancel an opti (open) miles award after the ticket has been issued (and before the first flight segment), you are not charged a EUR 40 cancellation fee.
