CO/VS codeshare earning FD points

2) CO codeshare flights on VS, EK & also Air Europa seem to be acceptable for points earning and redemption.

Specifically listed as point earners are :
BOS - MAN as a CO flight ( of course this is a VS operated flight )
LGW - MCO as a CO flight ( again VS flight )
MAN - MCO as a CO flight ( VS flight )
NYC - LHR as a CO flight ( VS )
LGW - MIA as a CO flight ( VS )
LAX - Lon as a CO flight ( VS )
CLE - BHX as a CO flight ( doesn't exist )
SFO - LON as a CO flight ( VS )
WAS - LON as a CO flight ( VS )

KLM FD supervisor Kitty has said no this is not true

These routes are indeed listed in the April 2002 edition of the brochure.

Also, whereas there is a specific exclusion for NW flights operated by another carrier (p.50), no such exclusion exists in relation to CO.

I had until now assumed that the usual rule (viz. no points on flights operated by a non-partner except under a specific KL code) applied to CO as well. It would appear that this is not the case. Strange that the rules should be more generous for CO codeshares than NW codeshares.

Does anyone know if CO-operated flights count towards the matching promo?

They certainly do if Flightnumber and metal is CO. I would have sworn that CO flights on other metal than CO/KL/NW would not earn points at all.

Now if this really can be confirmed, it would be a really good thing to have those VS flights as a possibility!!! How I would like to fly VS!!!

FD call agent Gregory has sid YES to CO codeshare flights operated by VS are eligible.

We had a long discussion and he says that according to what he can see he could book me a CO flight from LGW to MIA, which is of course operated by VS.

Cool! I hope this won't wake up them to maybe cancel an existing possibility...

However we need definite answers; I wouldn't risk booking a CO flight on VS that later get's no KLM points...

Well KLM knows I want to know...

I have names & email addresses of people investigating this @ klm.

I am also in the process of seeking legal advice.

I have been told, in the early stages of the KLM/CO relationship, that only CO flights on CO metal are eligible for FD points.

I specifically asked about VS, because CO had pretty good fares from DUS and MGL to the US east coast, operated via London on Virgin.

However, Mr. Marleen ( one of the best FD agents )told me, that only CO metal counts.....

Beside that, I don`t think that VS flights will count, simple because VS is a major competitor for KLM from the UK, why should anybody connect through AMS, when he can fly one of the best airlines nonstop from London.

But I would certainly appreciate, if VS joins the party...

All true, of course, so why do the CO flights ex LHR and other VS-operated CO sectors appear in the new FD guide (received yesterday)?

Upgrades are only available on KL, NW and KQ, not on CO metal, let alone VS operated CO codeshare.

Anybody tried to get an award on CO / VS-metal in Y or C? Of course it's not available online but it should be possible to book via FD Helpdesk...

And as those clearly VS routes are now in the booklet IMO we will get the information that those flights will count... (I wish to...)
