In the past week, I had occasion to cancel a short haul Y trip with BA, and a long haul C trip with KL.
The BA cancellation was done online in less than two minutes, and the refund appeared on my credit card account within 48 hours.
The KL cancellation necessitated a lengthy long distance phone call, which, once finally connected to a human, was dealt with efficiently. I am told that my refund will appear on my credit card account in six to eight weeks' time.
Quite a difference.
