You can help Johan by matching these words into a familar rhyming answer often used when being treated like an idiot by people who you help pay their salary.

Banker
Ducking
U
Luck
Cough

I have always found KLM are pretty incapable of actually answering the question posed.

Not completely true (about 0.5% from the truth)
If Johan replies with a to-the-point/snide e-mail hopefully with the new system a capable supervisor will take over. Solved my year and a half long problem (although I should not discount the possibility that the agent in question called in a supervisor. But not to be mean, if I mention about 5 times that my query is about the online booking bonus whilst explaining twice what it is, I don't expect the agent to continue to think I'm talking about missing flight credits. On the other hand, I did end up with flight credits I mentioned I was NOT due O_o)

Where on earth do KLM get these idiots from!

I wonder if any of them can actually read or if they just scan for words they recognise and send no. xxx standard reply.

OK wanted to try using some of these smiley things.

Exactly, could not agree more.

Two letters full of general comments about a still open question.

Working hours wasted at KLM Sygnific ? Maybe two or three, maybe even less or more !

Satisfied customers ( including FD audience ) ? Zippo !

Reading the KLM forum on a rainy afternoon ? Priceless !

Much ado about nothing!

I just called KLM reservations, who could tell me what FD never discovered :

my FD number was missing from the PNR ! It was that simple.

No wonder they could not assign me a seat in the SSZ. By now of course 9ABC and 11DE are gone, as are emergency exit row aisle seats 21C and 21H. Doesn't really matter, I have 35C, which is good enough on a flight that departs just before midnight, unless there are wailing infants in row 36, that is. Can't remember when I last had a seat further back than row 22, must have been ten years ago.

What about right down the back end of the plane where the body gets narrower they have rows of two and in the second row of two you have a load of extra legroom on the window seat

I don't like being one of the last to disembark, especially not if I have a connecting flight. On several occasions being off first has allowed me to just make my connection, thus avoiding a 24 hour delay.

Observations on AMS-CDG-AMS (KLM Metal)

On-line checkin, sequence number 6, offered a window seat in the second row of Y (my registered preference is for an aisle seat). The first row was showing as empty so moved up to one of the aisle seats there.

Couldn't check-in for the (same day) return flight. At AMS is was also not possible to pick up a return boarding pass, either from the machines or an agent.

At CDG, no KLM check-in machines. Checked in at the Affairs(? only in France!) desk and was given 22C. Sequence number 110 so there was nothing available at the front (apart from a couple of middle seats). Got an aisle seat in one of the exit rows.

The front of the Y cabin was full of tourists + kids.

It's only a one hour flight so wasn't a big deal but the lack of consistancy is a bit annoying. At CDG I did ask about "Select Seating" but at first only got a blank stare follow by a tentative question asking if I was looking for an upgrade or something.

On the plus side, the lounge at CDG 2F is pretty good and only about 10 seconds from the gates.

Bumping this up to ask:

Is this just the new PE Reservations team or something extra?

There was a new, PE only reservations number listed on my last paper statement but no mention of other PE services.

Is SSZ possible on NW-Flights ? I have problems getting a "good" seat on two NW-flights.

NW flights have a "preferred" section that is available only to elites and full-fare pax. The seats aren't really special, though, except that they're closer to the front of the plane. See http://www.seatguru.com for information about the best seats on NW flights (and most USA-based airlines).

As a WP elite I've been able to get SSZ on KL flights if I try hard enough (it takes the NW phone agents forever to get into the special KL computer system or whatever they have to do). So I'd assume FD elites would get the same treatment on NW flights.

Yep, I can confirm that. KL agents will be able to put you in the preferred seating zone, but you may have to insist as not all agents are sufficiently knowledgeable to know what to do. If you have difficulty, suggest to them to switch to the NW system. It may be an idea to attempt a dummy booking on nwa.com to see what seats are available.
