Confused on Priority Pass at AMS
Wow! I wasn’t concerned about flying out of AMS tomorrow (United flight 11am. It appears Departure area 3) until I checked in today and saw the “arrive 4 hours before your flight” warning.
I’ve read all of the thread and I’m unsure on this - it’s been years since I’ve flown out of AMS. I have Gold status on United, my wife Silver, and my 2 kids don’t have status. I can’t see anything on United’s site to help understand if the Priority Lanes will be an option? And since I don’t know the airport - I’m not sure I follow the advice on how to “ask” for clearance. Advice?! Thanks!! |
26 June flight - fast
We arrived right before 7am for our 11am flight. When our Uber pulled up, I was happy there were no lines out the door at Departure 3. We then walked in and saw many people queued up for check-in — I simply asked an airport employee who was walking by if she could point us to the Priority Line for security. She told us to head directly to the electronic gates to the far right, and we walked by the staff and immediately to the Priority Scanner. I tried one of my kids first since they have Premier Access only, not Gold/Silver like my wife and I have - they went right thru, so we did as well!
From that point - security took about 25 mins, passport control about 10 mins. From Uber to massages was about 45 mins. And I’ve never been happier to have to kill 3 hours. |
HI I am flying through Schiphol Airport with UNITED Airline in Business Class. Does anyone know if I can access FAST TRACK security line??

Thanks for your quick feedback, very much appreciated. One more thing, The line extends to outside the gate so should i go directly to the place where the boarding pass are scanned?

As soon as you have your boarding pass, then yes, go directly to the place it is scanned.

An AMS-related question. Does AMS ever have a manned EU entry customs lane, or just the automatic gates? I have an EU passport but flying in from the US. My two children have EU passports (4 months and 3 years old) and my wife does not have one yet. We normally go through manned EU entry lanes but want to make sure there is one so we don't have to wait in the foreigner line.

this is a (blurry) pic I snapped of the S->NS filter a while ago, indicating EU self serve and "all passports". https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...917a6a99b.jpeg |

I don't think there's specific "EU passports" manned checks. Just "all passports" and e-gates. e-gates are often not in use, though.

So it looks like we'll need to wait in the "all passports" line since minors can't go through the e-gates? do you mean the e-gates were closed or that there weren't a lot of people at them?

Hi Tourguide seems you are very good informed. I fly next week to Singapore with Singapore airlines. I am flying in business class (but no status with SQ) so can I join the priority lanes for security at Schiphol?

And you will have access to the Privium ClubLounge West as well, which is way superior to the other airside lounges. Johan |
