configuration

Does anyone know if the business configuration is changing to 2-2-2 and economy to 3-4-3 like the 773?

Cheers!

I expect Y will go to 10-abreast.

I believe the number of WBC seats will be comparable to the current set-up of 35 seats, which means that the number of Y seats will be reduced (unless compensated by switching to 3-4-3 in Y).

I think that's the plan for Y, 3-4-3

Thought so! Will be interesting to see. I find their current 777 business class quite small, and regularly full or even overbooked. Shame to see the 9 abreast configuration in Y go, so much more comfortable than 10 abreast.

Thanks for the replies!

According to flightradar24 the last 747(PH-BFK) is heading back to AMS from its conversion to the new WBC in PEK. Now KLM's 747 fleet is complete again.

KL's longhaul J cabins are small compared to most other airlines, regardeless of aircraft type.

I just checked a 777 flight departing tomorrow. Flightstats lists availability as J/4 C/4 D/4 I/3 Z/2. Being interested in a possible upgrade, I gave KL a call. The agent assured me that J is completely sold out, not a seat available. Intersting that they are still willing to sell as many as four seats, then.

I would check in the lounge as well just before departure, as the load could change nearer the time.

does anyone know what Economy seats they're fitting? Will they be the same as the 77W Y seats?

Thanks!

Yes. The narrow cramped 3-4-3

Thanks for the tip, and I would have done so had I been the pax traveling. In this instance, I hoped up upgrade a friend who is only Ivory, so she has no lounge access. I did check with my regular travel agent, who said that J was zeroed out in their GDS too.

The B772's do get a newer style Eco seat. More in line with the Hella Jongerius WBC seat.

I'm sure it will look nice. But I am also sure it will be 3-4-3 an not much more than 31"
