QR's 787 Y cabin is certainly getting really awful reviews. The IFE boxes seem to be a big part of the problem.

Good news everyone. It seems that the 787 gets the AF NEW seat (Cyrus) in 1-2-1 config in J. Why do some think it's the Zodiac? Am I missing something?

Y is indeed 3-3-3

Zodiac Aerospace is the manufacturer of the Cirrus seat.

Maybe this has been answered before... Why is KLM going with an entirely new seat instead of their current 'new' J seat on the 747/777? (Not that I'm complaining, the Cirrus seat looks nicer.) Will the new Cirrus seat replace all J seats, including the relatively new ones?

I thought the idea from the beginning was that AF and KL would install the same Business Class seat in the B789 and A350.

That's it. And the A330 may be a joint refurbish candidate with the same J seat as well.

Very much looking forward to flying this new dreamliner - should be pretty good. I also like the fact that they'll go for the 1- 2- 1 config in Herringbone style..

According to airlinerroute.net the first 787-900 will fly on 25th October (KL437, AMS-AUH-BAH); furthermore, the KLM website booking tool now shows this flight as "789" on 25/10 (but A330 on previous dates).

And the next 789 destinations will be CAI, UIO/GYE and XMN, according to luchtvaartnieuws.nl.

Anyone else going to be on the launch flights?

I have booked AMS-AUH-BAH on both the 25th and 26th.

KL is still telling me that the first 789 flight is on the 26th, despite what their website is showing. So I've got both dates on hold.

Considering booking... Are there special collector houses on this flight? Love the new layout and looking forward to flying it!

I'm also considering! FYI, a DUS-AMS-AUH r/t in biz is currently going for around €600 less than the simpler AMS-AUH r/t!

Has anybody been able to find any onward Etihad AUH-XXX destinations with KL codeshares (the Maldives or Seychelles would be nice) that can connect with the AMS-AUH 789?

Flying out of Dusseldorf into Ams or CDG and then on long haul business is not only cheaper, it also gives you approx 3750 more level miles. For example I have a Dus - Ams - Hkg - Ams - Dus scheduled in business which gives me 18158 miles - and an extra 4000 for paying with American express fb card. The way it looks now, I'll back to fb plat by May.
