Delay in NS
Dear All,
This is particular troubling me and I am sure most of the Dutch readers. As you all know the NS in The Netherlands is very bad in keeping time. I normally have to put a 2 hour buffer incase something goes wrong. However, I was wondering if anyone knew the regulations for insurance companies or NS themselves, if one day 2 hours is not enough? I normally travel in the lowest economy class fare, so they are not really changage.
Thanks for your time!

Basically it is your responsibility to be at the airport on time. If you come by car, train, boat or plane...if youre not at the airport 120-90 minutes before your flight, it is your responsibility if you miss the flight. That is from the perspective of the airline at least.
Travel insurance can help with this problem. It completely depends on your insurance policy though. For example, the basic 35-euro-a-year travel insurance will not cover any of this. However the more expensive ones, do. The insurance that comes with the Flying Blue Amex plus card for example, covers 150 euro towards a new ticket if you miss your flight due to delays with public transport while getting to the airport.

As long as you pick up your ticket before the deadline at ZWE and your train is delayed from ZWE-AMS resulting in you missing AMS-XXX KLM is required to sort out new flights (and hotel accommodation if you have to stay the night).
