Then of course KLM is liable once you have checked in at the station. I am guessing that only ZWE-AMS-XXX legs will fall under this situation.
As long as you pick up your ticket before the deadline at ZWE and your train is delayed from ZWE-AMS resulting in you missing AMS-XXX KLM is required to sort out new flights (and hotel accommodation if you have to stay the night).
