"LCC" reflects the carrier's operating costs, not their fares. @:-)

Most things that you mention here are just safety theater. I appreciate that JetBlue does not force its passengers to actively participate in useless activities. But, I guess there are people who take this stuff seriously. They probably think that taking off shoes and banning liquids on board make them safer as well.
