This is my very first time to be most likely flying with Jetblue.
We are going on a cruise from Long Beach and the best fare I could find to the L.A. area was on Jetblue from Seattle to Long Beach which is perfect.
During the booking process which I didn't finish yet, I couldn't see if we are able to book our seats in advance and what kind of plane is being used for this flights.
Is it possible to preassign seats on Jetblue and does anyone know what kind of aircraft is being used to Long Beach from SEA.

I am sorry everyone. I found the answer myself. I just needed to take the booking one step further and it gave me the choices for seat selection, except for the outbound I received a message that the flight was filling up and they would allocate seats.
There is 3 of us, 2 adults and our son, 6 years old. What are the chances of being able to sit together?
The question with regards to what kind of aircraft also takes care of itself when seeing the seat map.
If seating is 3 - 3 I believe it's an A320 and when it's 2 - 2 it's an Embraer, is that correct?
Any other advice you can give a first time Jetblue flier out of SEA?

How is Long Beach airport? I heard it's quite peaceful which is a nice change from the usual chaos at LAX.

yup 3-3 on A320 2-2 on E190's.

SEA Jetblue check-in counter is very small and easy to use..since there's usually only one or two flights checking in at a time- there should always be an agent able to help you. there are 2 self-check kiosks..but there's really no point in using it if you have bags. mostly people w/o bags use the kiosk though people with bags use it too..but eventually they have to deal with an agent anyways.

as for sitting together. i would give Jetblue a call and see what they can do for you.

you just need to be at the airport about 2hrs before and it should be ok. the gate used in SEA is A10 which is quite a long stroll through the A terminal so be prepared for that. The moving walkalators start about halfway to the gate. Otherwise everything should be quite efficient.

If you aren't able to get preassigned seats togther there are several seats that are blocked for "day of" assignment incase of any wheelchair customers. Also SEA-LGB is run on the E190 which is 2x2 seating.

It sounds like a good way to go without the busy-ness of LAX and even SEA.
I do fly out of SEA frequently as fares out of SEA are often less then half the price then what we have to pay out of YVR.
IIRC Delta is using the A concourse also which I have used a couple of times to ATL.

JetBlueFa, when I took my booking to the part where you select seats the seatmap for the return was 3 - 3, that was for the evening departure out of Long Beach. Maybe there is an increase due to the summer month.

Either way I am happy as I have flown on both aircraft just different airlines.

Apparently the evening departure is on the 320. I was not aware of that and appologise for the false information. I'm pretty sure we still do it this way but on the 320 I believe we block row 1 and 25 A-F for day of assignment inorder to sit families or special needs customers together.

And you always have passengers like me who would always be willing to move seats so minors don't have to be alone. As as you have to do is ask the gate agents first and if they can't help you, ask other passengers and inflight crew if there is someone willing to switch.

Very small. Nothing like LAX. If you are flying back LGB-SEA, you will find security at LGB very pleasant. I usually have only 5 people in front of me when I go through security, and that's when it's busy. Typically, it's only one person in front of me.

It's sort of like flying MRY or Eureka. Very small airports.

I came back on the FLL-LGB flight last night and was greeted to a sight i have never seen before ... the airport was packed, and the roadway was jammed. I am not sure whether it is an isolated incident, or it is taste of things to come, but I did not like it.

You came in at a time when all the east coast departures were arriving. To make matters worse, those airplanes then take a new host of passangers back to the east coast. The boarding area, ticket counters, gates and baggage claim are all stuffed to (over)capacity, especially in the summer.

That time period, between 8pm and 10pm, is the busiest time period of the day, IMO. They are moving ahead with construction of the new terminal there, so at the current rate, expect a much smoother experience starting around the year 2100.

I'm curious as to how many days you are allowing between the arrival of your flight and the start of your cruise?

Is that a question that you ask of anyone flying to catch a cruise, regardless of airline?

Your intent to highjack every thread to promote your belief that Jetblue is not a reliable company with which to travel is IMO rather alarmist.

I understand that you feel somewhat vindicated, ironically, by the fact that a flight you were scheduled to take has canceled 3 out of 4 nights and that you feel this proves some inability to operate a network reliably but I think it more respectful if you weren't to profligate this belief without a thorough examination.

I have agreed with you on the need for an interline agreement for Jetblue which is nothing that hasn't been mentioned before. Beyond that; is it really righteous to spread some insinuation of failure into someone's travel plans simply because they are flying Jetblue?

The OP says it's their first time flying JetBlue. Moreover, the OP's trip is one in which arriving on schedule is most likely critical. It is well-documented here on FT that many frequent flyers avoid JetBlue for critical flights such as this -- just see the other thread where a poster says they will fly DL to BOS because they don't want to risk JetBlue canceling the flight and subsequently missing the Red Sox game. They will fly JetBlue home when it's not critical. Yes, Sox games are expensive, but would you rather miss a baseball game or a cruise?

There's no hijacking of threads going on here -- the premise behind FlyerTalk is that people share information. If I was considering flying JetBlue for the first time, I would sure as heck want to know that they have a higher probability of leaving me stranded. I might still fly them, but at least I would be informed. And if I have extra time, I would allow an extra day or two (or perhaps book back-up refundable tickets on a legacy) such that I'm assured of getting there. There are lots of ways to hedge the risk of flying B6.

What type of thorough examination would you like? Shall we quote the on-time statistics? Personally, I don't feel they are of much use. I care more about the fat-tails of the distribution curve. How often does an airline fail to get a pax to their destination within 24 hours? Within 48? That's the stuff that matters to people who are booking a flight and need to be somewhere for an event. But the media, and the general population, don't understand statistics, so you're not going to find those sorts of numbers. That's the beauty of FlyerTalk -- the collective wisdom of thousands of flyers is aggregated into one place. Lots of people share their JetBlue experiences, good and bad. I can point out how BOS-DEN has been canceled 3 times in a stretch of 4 days, or how my buddy got stranded in SJC after B6 canceled his flight and wanted to rebook him for the following Weds. On the other hand, you can point out how wonderful JetBlue is because you get to watch TV. In the end, lots of opinions are shared, and we all learn from it.

Finally, I'll point out that if all the JetBlue detractors left this forum, it would be a pretty boring place. And not particularly useful either.
