Question Flight delay?

We had a flight this past Sunday night, MCO-HPN, the flight time was 8:30PM, we ended up leaving about 11:20PM. The reason for the delay was a weather issue at JFK (our plane was the one coming from JFK)
I thought we might be covered under the new policy at JB, the woman I spoke to on the phone said no, because it was weather related. So I'm thinking, it had nothing to do with our weather.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks.

Yeah, your right it had nothing to do with YOUR weather, however its still considered a weather delay.

Example if I tell you I'm going to pick you up at HPN to take you to NYC and I'm coming from Brewster lets say. Its just raining at HPN but in Brewster its an icy mess. I'm 45 minutes late picking you up. What would you classify as the reason for my delay in taking you from HPN to NYC?

And thats why its a weather related delay

JFK was a mess the past saturday, winter storm #2 blew through. So the weather in MCO may have been great NYC and the northeast coast was whole noter story. Unfortunatly weather delays aren't covered under the Bill Of Rights Compensation.

Even with the 3 hour delay you saved time going into HPN rather than JFK, be happy, not angry

Sorry, I misunderstood the tone of your post. I thought you were angry at B6. Tone sometimes gets lost when posting on the internet.

Update

I emailed JB about the delay and they sent us a voucher each for $50.
Thought that was pretty decent of them. ^
Sent them a little thank you note.

Exactly what i would have said...if you know anything about the airline industry in 2007, it has been one of the worst years for on-time arrivals/departures. If everyone filed a complaint on every single delay and got free vouchers, all the airlines would be bankrupt again..

Don't get me wrong, but i feel your pain. We've all been there. It has to do with more flights and more people traveling crowding up the skies..so there is bound to be delays. It's something the government and airlines need to work together on.

air travel is a pain nowadays and you have to pack a lot of patience for Delays which is an inconvenience and as well as lost bags.

It's understandable that the OP was upset/inconvenienced, but it is just the way things are in air travel presently and you just have to deal with it. You are one of millions of travelers that are facing the same dilemma each a everyday of the year.

I must have lucked out. Not one of my flights in 2007 was late more than 10 minutes.

The valentine's day delay massacre couldn't have helped B6's on time stats. But then again, what airline has been doin' well with delays?
