Atleast my crackberry is compatable. Darn, that reminds me. A B6 plane is one less place I can escape from being on it.

Even if there was seperate controls over the two radios, or there was no cellular radio (as in the iPod Touch), the iPhone still wouldn't work because of its lack of a flash plugin for Safari.

LH and SQ both had the service. It worked very well- I used it on a weekly basis- except in the Southern Hempisphere (Below about Singapore the service dropped out). The CEO of LH commented that they were experiencing a rise in both Business and First customers directly as a result of the service. The service was actually run by Boeing (it was called Connexion)- apparently it was a decision by Boeing to discontinue the service. It also worked on competitors planes FYI (Airbus). The cost was 29.99 USD for 24 hours- or I believe 9.95 for an hour? Someone can correct me on the pricing. It was full internet access- you could also tunnel to your vpn if you wanted corporate access at no extra charge. Congratulations to B6 on starting this- some innovation in the US skies

I'm not positive but I don't think those logos are actually on the aircraft. I think they where just put on the photo release. Anybody in SFO today she's on her way to you.

I do hope this expands to full Wifi service. mail and IM alone are not gonna be enough.

ahhh.... Photochop.

I figured in the spirit of the Official Airline of Springfield and Homer's endorsement logo, they would extend the courtesy to other partners as well.

Some turbulence for JetBlue's in-flight e-mail

I'm typing this somewhere over Louisville, Ky. (or so the "live map" on my seat monitor tells me), on board JetBlue flight 641, a "BetaBlue" New York-to-San Francisco plane equipped with Yahoo and BlackBerry e-mail and instant-messaging access.
I was able to load up the Yahoo Mail in the Sky application, an ultra-light version of Yahoo Mail, but before I could send any messages, the system had faltered again. About five minutes later, I was able to ping CNET News.com's newsroom with a test message. I received three replies from my colleagues on the ground, but then the Wi-Fi started to fuzz in and out again.
BetaBlue's Wi-Fi infrastructure clearly isn't ready for prime time, which is why I think it's ultimately a good idea that they've started small. Representatives from JetBlue's LiveTV division, which handles the service, said that the program will see expansions over the next few months.

I was wrong the sponsorships are on the aircraft. Look pretty neat if you ask me.

Interesting Beta-Blue photo. So it is real that sponsors got their logo on the plane now . Too bad they won't have Beta-Blue flying from IAD-FLL
