That sounds like it can be very annoying with the air vents overhead. I doubt, but is it possible it is that way only in the row you were in for some unknown reason? Otherwise, glad to hear you enjoyed the flight

It looks like all the vents are directly above the seat, but it could be worse because I was in the exit row.
