I'm wondering this as well. What I find odd is that tickets to Aruba are selling before it has been approved...same thing happened with Bermuda. jetBlue has already won the authority to fly to Cancun. Maybe they are still waiting on some stuff?
Rumor on a.net has it that another 2 new cities will be announced on Friday morning. a.net has surprisingly been pretty accurate recently (TUS, HOU, SRQ and back to RDU, CLT has been right on!) I've been hearing STL and CMH but who knows...maybe CUN will be one of them.
Maybe CUN won't launch untitl Jan./Feb. in time for Spring Break??

As far as CUN goes, I would think they would want to get service going there before Thanksgiving. CUN is a very popular vacation spot year-round; not just during spring break.

Could be off base, but Jetblue could be waiting until hurricane recovery is farther along. They were hit very hard last year.
Airtran had announced Cancun service and then put it on hold until 2007 (I think) due to hurricanes.

Delta is challenging the results posted by the government. They are upset that they didn't get JFK-CUN when they really wanted it. Prelim reports are saying that the government is going to uphold their original decision.

Thats the funniest thing ever...
First... Delta's 757-200s is anything but spacious.... and second, don't know about you but I'd much rather be sitting in jetBlue class than in Delta's first class.
Also I dont think anything that Delta does will maximize public benefits and offer the best service for the traveling public aside from adding more capacity.... if Delta's only argument for maximizing public benifit and best service is more cramped seats... eh... maybe thats why they didn't win the route.

Couldn't agree more. I try and avoid DL by all means. Sky Miles makes it so difficult to redeem miles, their planes are old, uncomfortable, no IFE, rude (not all, but most) flight attendants and I hate the fact that when I call DL's toll free #, my call is outsourced overseas. It's bad enough I get that when I call Dell and countless other companies...let's have some support for our economy! DL is just a mess of an airline that used to be good.
I (and many others) would fly jetBlue class to CUN any day over DL!
