Problems purchasing checked bags
Hi, I recently cancelled a points ticket with JetBlue (see my post on this thread Why can't I use travel bank on a points flight (for the taxes portion) on 4/4/23) and re-booked with the points and the travel bank. Then, I logged into my account to purchase the bags. That was also on 4/4. Ever since that day, I have a pending charge (it still says pending as of today) of $60 for 2 checked bags from JetBlue on my Amex card. However, my JetBlue account shows that I haven't purchased any bags and the agent in the chat says she can't see any bags purchased. Has anyone ever had this problem?! Thanks

A pending charge on your credit card account is a hold on your available credit or a pending charge that has yet to post to your account. It was only three days between your purchase and your post here. This could typically take up to three days but may stretch longer depending on the merchant and the type of transaction for the funds to be released.

FWIW, heres an update about my issue. After the pending charge was sitting on my American Express card account for about five days, it suddenly dropped off. Theres no trace that I ever made the $60 purchase for the two checked bags with JetBlue. So Im guessing that its another technical glitch problem with the JetBlue website. I will go ahead and try to purchase those checked bags again, probably with an agent via chat to make sure it gets processed.

The purchase probably didn't go through. Maybe due to advanced verification steps like comparing your name and address on the purchase to what AmEx has on file. I've seen that cause similar issues with other merchants before. First the charge is processed and then the address verification is performed. Seems backwards to me but what do I know.
