Change charges

When you have to make a change in the time window where you'll pay $150 fee (mint) is there any difference between doing a cancel and rebook vs a change?

Not really. If you cancel you'll get a Travel Bank credit for the amount you paid minus $150 (assuming it's less than 60 days from departure), and then you can use that credit to purchase the new ticket. Keep in mind that in addition to the $150 fee, you'll also have to pay any applicable fare difference between your old and new flight.
